Event: Fibre Optic Communication Workshops

02 July 2014 to 03 July 2014

On 2 and 3 July, ICT Africa will be hosting a two day workshop on Fibre Optic Communications at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand. (19 Richards Drive, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa)

08h30 to 17h00, daily

By attending this two-day, comprehensive course, you will be able to learn the fundamental aspects and components of fiber optic networks – including fiber as the transmission medium, transmission systems and other components that compliment optical fiber. With these essentials, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the components of a fiber optic communication network, including the product, specifications and the international standards associated with the products. With your comprehensive knowledge of the products and specification options, you will be ready to contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of these networks.

You will learn to establish the requirements and specifications that result in proper optical performance and reliable network operation. You will learn different requirements and products for different network applications – from terrestrial long haul, to metropolitan to access and to premises networks.
Who should attend?

Engineers, Managers and anyone else responsible for, or interested in, designing reliable and cost-effective fibre optic networks.

No minimum qualification pre-requisites apply but a background in the sciences or engineering is preferred.
